A successful year

We finished the decoration and managed to separate the course rooms. The number of kids attending our courses has passed an important milestone: more than 100/week. But, it is not just quantity, it is the quality: the performance achieved is really remarkable.

The first Nerdvana robotics competition

Together with IZoom Arena, we organised the first edition of the robotics competition, where we played Lego Football, a national first. It was also the first competition organised in Romania by a robotics school, that had international participation: a delegation of 25 from the Philippines answered our invitation.

The tests in the competition included line follower, sumo and football.

Partners in the 2019 National IT Olympiads for secondary schools

Together with the Frâncu Foundation, we were the logistics partners in the running of the National IT Olympiads in Bucharest. We were directly involved in the online area, where we developed the event website and provided all the necessary information to all the stakeholders.

The Robotics Club

1. Participation in World Robotics Olympiad, National Stage, Bucharest, with 9 teams pictures of the event - Facebook). The results included:
   • Elementary Category: 4th, 5th and 9th places;
   • Junior High Category: 1st, 3rd, 8th, 16th and 17th places;
   • Senior High Category: 2nd place;
2. Representing Romania in World Robotics Olympiad, Friendship Invitational, Denmark with 2 teams (pictures of the event - Facebook). The results included:
   • Junior High Category: 19th place /28 teams;
   • Senior High Category: 7th place/23 teams
3. Representing Romania in the World Adolescent Robotics Contest, China with cu 1 team. The result obtained in the Elementary Category was the bronze medal.
4. Representing Romania in the World Robotics Olympiad, International Final, Hungary with 1 team (pictures of the event - Facebook). The result obtained in the Junior High Category was 30th place / 99 teams, out of 74 countries.
5. Participation of tutors Marcela Priboi and Mihai Tuțu as arbiters in the Elementary and Junior High categories for the World Robotics Olympiad, Friendship Invitational, Denmark and World Robotics Olympiad, International Final, Hungary.

IQ Academy Club

Out of 29 pupils taking the course, 28 qualified for the National IT Olympiads.

In 6th form, the 1st place was taken by a pupil of the IQ Academy, while 25 obtained medals.

Other successes

• Of the IT courses taught in the tutoring system, 2/12 pupils reached the National IT Olympiad stage.
• The workshops "Let’s play robots" for Băneasa Shopping Mall, in which the Nerdvana tutors and the robotics team trained more than 600 children in the secrets of robotics, using the Lego WeDo 2.0 kit. (pictures of the event - Facebook).
